I have been using cheap "cheater" reader glasses I got at Costco to help me focus on my phone and reading. I went in to get a vision test for my first set of prescription reading glasses. The experience was pretty typical, not overly friendly, but not rude. The exam was thorough and straightforward. The issue I have came to the frame selection and ordering process. The men's selection was scarce and no assistance really on the types, styles, or options you may have to choose from. The "included with insurance" options were pretty low quality, but I didn't mind paying an additional $60-80 for better frames. When looking through the options, you assume that what you see is what you get. I chose the frames that I most liked and was told it would take 2 weeks. I returned home to check my options online and, holy smokes, were there so many other options out there. Not only did they have the frames I selected, but many different color combinations with them. I wasn't told I had these options, but called back to confirm I could change my order if I found another color combination I liked. Lack of transparency and help with available options, -1 star. I called at the end of 2 weeks and again at the end of 3 weeks. Didn't seem to have any idea why they weren't ready yet. I'm expecting the glasses by the end of this week (4 weeks). Delay in expected delivery time/bad forecasting, -1 star. *Edit - I was contacted a day after writing the review by a member of the Fairfield location. They informed me that my glasses were ready. When I arrived, I was told that the glasses took longer than expected because there was an issue/error with the lenses and they did not meet their standards. I completely understand wanting to get it right the first time. The root of the problem is that the central call center you speak with when you call does not have enough information to provide you as it relates to your individual concern. I would also hope, in the future, they communicate that there are more color/style options available that may not be currently on display. The staff who helped me upon picking up my glasses were very gracious and helpful.
